More garden

These are of the garden in Early July. Certainly looks different between Clive the gardener weeding and thinning out and two Weeks of the growing season. It does seem to be ever changing, as something dies off something else comes through in it's place. Old Mick must of spent years planting that garden out...

Garden

Here's some shots of the garden taken in mid June. I've had to take on a gardener to look after it for me. I also pulled nearly all the Rhubarb the week before last and distributed it amongst the neighbours. I'm not sure what's going on there, some of the neighbours said old Mick used to hand it out to the them, others said he used to sell it to the local grocers and buy cat food with the money and the latest version is that he wouldn't give it away but pulled it and left it to rot in the garden. It also transpires that at least two of the neighbours have Rhubarb plants that came from my garden which may explain the area adjacent to the Rhubarb patch that had nothing growing in it!

Been busy

I've also stripped out nearly all the skirting boards and all the picture rails. Have made good the walls right to the floor as I'm hoping to install heated skirting boards that need lots of clips fitting to flat walls. Just one room left to do.
I've now also cut in the internal vents in the bathroom and en-suite and the external ends of these through the soffit. I also installed a small amount of celotex in the loft above each ceiling vent location to get a tighter fit as the ducting passes through. Eventually the whole loft will be insulated at joist level using 100mm celotex between the joists which will give the same 'U' value as 270mm of fibreglass. It is a much more expensive way of insulating the roof space but it does mean I can board straight on the joists to create a huge storage area.

Kitchen

The kitchen is coming on. Completely plastered, base coat on ceiling and walls. Plumbing all first fixed and the extractor ducting all sorted. Nearly all the new kitchen is now on site (waiting for a few bits) and I need to sort a sink out. I'm torn at the mo - seen a nice stainless steel inset single bowl & drainer that's got a lovely shape to it, but I also like the idea of an under mount single stainless steel bowl and routing the drainer grooves into the oak worktop. It's a tuffy! Have gone fully integrated, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer and double electric oven with a gas hob. Will start fitting it this week....
