Fishing

Not really anything to do with the bungalow but a great piccie to be shared. It was taken around 4.30am at Orchard place farm fishery in Paddock Wood just as dawn was breaking. Can you see the sun just through the mist behind the trees at the far end of the lake? A magical time of day that I rarely see, unless of course I'm camped out somewhere and haven't had a skinfull the night before.

Gardens

Thought I'd include some images of the garden. It's surprised me as to what a well established and planted garden I have inherited. The old boy who lived here before was apparently a market gardener and responsible for breeding three new strains of his favorite plant. It shows, as something dies off it is replaced by something else and there is just a constant ever changing array of colour. Unfortunately the garden was neglected by myself for the first few months of being there so I've had to take on a gardener who is slowly reining in the wildness - I fear it's going to be a time consuming and costly process! Anyone wanting to lend a hand is welcome to stay. I have on offer the 5* tent, sleeping bag and air bed. Cold drinking water and a toilet that flushes with the aid of a bucket of water - oh, there's cold beer in the fridge too!

Home???

What do you really need? Somewhere to sleep, my festival tent makes a perfect temporary bedroom. And me fishing rods, anyone coming to stay??

Plastering

Plasterers arrived this morning and have managed to skim both bedrooms and the kitchen ceilings. Not bad going. The finish looks good too although the truth is when the mist coat is on. They're due in for the next few days so by the end of the week there should be a big visible difference in the building. I can't wait! Been a long time coming.

The missing window!

Well there you go folks, the elusive window is now installed. Not the best of fits, the cill, header & both reveals have had to be packed out to meet the window as even after measuring it several times it still appears that they got it a little on the small side! Still, at least it's in now....
