Rooms

The new stud wall is now up and boarded fully on one side. There is now a clearly defined kitchen space, new hall layout and a slightly bigger bathroom. The new bathroom and kitchen door linings are in too. Extension to kitchen wall has been made good where it joins the original wall.
Have made a good dent in making good the damage from installing the new electrics - probably still got a days messing around with that - that plastering business is an art! Still absolutely shed loads to do, I need time!! I must stop pricing work!!

Electrics is well under way now too. The new ring mains are in, both bedrooms on one ring, hall & living on another ring and kitchen on it's own. Lighting is split into two circuits so if an RCD trips you've still got some lights. I have a few sockets and most of the lights working, connected via a mini RCD board for safety untill the new consumer unit goes in. Got the heat/smoke alarm circuit, loft power, boiler supply & oven circuit all first fixed too. Put a new coaxial cable in through the new stud wall so I can fit a new TV aerial later without having to chase or hide the cable. New external light in rear garden, old porch light moved & re-wired, new power & lighting to the sun-room.

I just need to track these bloody window fitters down now. They said 4-6 weeks, that was over 2 months ago. They now say between 29th April & 29th May. I'll try to tie then down to a firm date as I need to organise for the plasterers to come in straight after the windows are done.

All being well this week will run more smoothly than last and I'll be able to get a couple of week days to myself to try & push things forward at a faster rate - going a bit too slow.....

Ceilings

All the ceilings are now plasterboarded apart from the loo. I'm still not sure whether this will become an en-suite or be knocked through to make the bathroom bigger so have left the ceiling for now - will deal with it as soon as I've made a final decision. Still got a little tidying & prep to do on the ceilings before I can get the plasterers in - nearly there though! Just need a few free days so I can spend some time at the bungalow.

Research

Well it's nearly 3am and I'm still at it, although under the influence!! Believe it or not i'm dealing with kitchen designs and doors...Have arranged for the lads to be down on Friday (bank hol) to plasterboard the ceilings, dig the trench & fit the armoured cable to the garage and hopefully some other bits. I'm trying to hammmer down the kitchen price and source the hall/kitchen doors. I'm several beers in and now wondering how I'm going to make Thursdays appointments..... watch this space...
